While most enjoy our special supercars, exotics, racecars and the world's most significant automobiles during the nine days of Supercar Week each year, it's truly the people that we've met, the relationships developed and the kindness they've lent us over our 13 years producing one of the world's leading auto enthusiast's events. One year, a friend brought a friend with their incredible offshore powerboats. You know, those big beautiful, sleek Miami Vice syled flying artworks. Larry Goldman pulled in his Xtreme Powerboats with his dear friend Gino's boat that had a matching Lamborghini at it's side. Our crowd went wild for these rarely seen beauties on land, flipped up on their sides.

Needless to say the design, color and beauty of these most powerful horespower icons were a tremendous public display hit for all ages. Larry's friend Gino brought out his Burger Fi Boat and matching Lamborghini, but from year to year, we coud never tell if the boats would show up, but on occassion, they did. The one mile stretch of the Downtown West Palm Beach Flagler Drive Waterfront was a natural backdrop for the powerboats. We'd get hundreds of requests each year, "will the powerboats be there." We hear that as often as "will there be any Bugattis, Pagani's yada yada yada". But, it really was about the men and women that came out to share their pride and joys with the public. That's where it impressed me the most. As curator and producer of the show, it was obvious that the conversations and the sharing between the owners and the public, was what was most important. Larry Goldman, his best friend Gino Gargiulo and our good friend Bill Mazzoni from BTM Marine really brought something remarkable to our show and it was more than the boats, it was them.

Then the unforseen happened. We were told that Larry Goldman had passed away. Now please bear in mind, Larry was no ordinary gentleman. He was loved and respected by the entire South Florida boating community and both the Off Shore and Superboat champions and fans. Larry Goldman, former President and Owner of the company, founded Extreme Marine, aka Xtremepowerboats. Goldman had a successful career on (and off) the water since the age of 21. Goldman received his first boat at the age of nine and thus began his love for boating. He earned numerous World and National Offshore Racing Championships and built a legacy within the high-performance boating community. Goldman was a permanent fixture at all major Poker Runs, charity events, and the Miami and Fort Lauderdale Boat Shows. Goldman was known to support his customers every step of the way and was known to spend countless hours helping those boaters in need.

In 1991 Larry Goldman opened a Mercruiser Dealership and Service Center in Sunny Isles Marina. Later in 1996, Goldman started Extreme Marine, in Miami, Florida. As the business grew, Goldman relocated Extreme Marine to North Miami to expand the rigging and sales end of the industry.

Through the years, Goldman and Extreme Marine have been featured in countless articles, Television Shows, and movies. As of recently, Goldman was featured on an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, a segment on CNBC’S “Secret Lives of The Rich and Famous,” and on Good Morning America and Nightline News in an episode discussing boating safety.

In the summer of 2017, Larry Goldman passed away unexpectedly. His legacy lives on and continues to shine throughout the boating industry. He left his mark and now, his wife Jodi, daughter Jilian, and son Jacob, as well as the dedicated Extreme Marine team, continue on with keeping Larry’s dream alive.

While we've all heard someone say about someone "he'd give you the shirt off his back", I've honestley heard this about Larry dozens of times.
